While living in Florida I had many opportunities to visit different locations in the state and photograph wildlife, landscapes and domestic animals. One favorite area was Ocala, often referred to as the "horse country" of Florida. One morning while scouting photo ops in the horse farm areas, I came across the scene depicted in this painting. These two young horses were having a blast chasing each other around the pasture and their sheer exuberance was contagious! Of the many shots made that day this one caught the joy of the moment best.
